In 1988, on behalf on F5HRY Hervé’father, we (F5HRY, F1HAR, F6EPY and I) , young students, got the opportunity to activate the Nançay Radiotelescope on 23cm . The feed we used was a 4 vertically stacked F9FT 23elts yagis (to better accomodate the reflector illumination) which were installed on the right side of the Feeds cabin. Only the feed and the raw subreflector can be moved, allowing a maximum of 1 hour tracking. It was amazing how strong the signals were, and I’ll never forget the K5JL phone QSO. We had a lot of fun and learnt a lot. For me the EME bug went inside there !.
